Austin Schuhrer is a compassionate and determined school leader. He is an excellent student, having been regularly included on the Principal’s Honor Roll and gaining membership with the National Honor Society. He looks forward to learning how to build our world’s infrastructure as he pursues a degree in civil engineering in college. Moreover, Austin is involved in many extracurricular activities both on and off the Saint Joe’s campus. He has been a member of the varsity spring and winter track teams, as well as cross country, and is each team’s captain. Last track season, Austin was nominated for the award of most improved. He is President of the fishing club and a Eucharistic minister for campus ministry. Austin volunteered for JusticeWorx since freshman year, building homes for the less fortunate in Dunlow, West Virginia and Trenton, NJ. If that wasn’t enough, Austin also coordinated our school’s color run, which raised money for various charities. For his work in providing support to others and serving as a role model, it is our pleasure to recognize Austin Schuhrer as the Student of the Month.
Riley Wilkins is a hard-working, kind young man. He is a strong student academically, having regularly been included on the Principal’s Honor Roll. Riley is involved in many extracurricular activities both on and off the Saint Joe’s campus. He has been a member of the varsity baseball team, and also played varsity soccer for the past two seasons. He also is a member of Model UN and also enjoys travel club. Riley loves giving back to his community, and has volunteered his time at various soup kitchens in and around his hometown. Perhaps Riley’s greatest accomplishment is volunteering for JusticeWorx, an organization that builds homes for the less fortunate. For his exceptionally kind demeanor and his dedication to serving others, it is our pleasure to recognize Riley Wilkins as the Student of the Month.
Thomas Young is well-rounded young man who represents Saint Joe’s well in the classroom, on the court, and in the community. Currently, Tom serves as the senior class president. Tom has enhanced his skills and knowledge by participating in a plethora of clubs, such as Peer Mentoring, Physics Club and Medical Club, just to name a few. He has been a member of the varsity volleyball team since sophomore year, and has been selected to the all division and conference teams last season. He also plays for a very successful volleyball club team in the off season. Tom is has additionally demonstrated a passion for volunteering. He has been a member of Campus Ministry for two years and is also a member of Justiceworx, a non-profit organization that builds homes for the less fortunate. In 10th grade, Tom traveled to West Virginia to build a home for a family in need. If that wasn’t enough, Tom also volunteers his time at his parish, and as a member of the Samaritan Homeless interim program, which assists families who are in desperate need of emergency housing and associated services. For his dedication to his classmates, his team, and those in need, we are so proud to recognize Thomas Young as our Student of the Month.
