Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

No Application Necessary

 

Full Tuition Scholarship

This full tuition scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen based on the Entrance Exam score. The student must have applied to Saint Joseph High School by the December deadline and have earned a perfect score on the Entrance Exam.  Students do not need to apply for the scholarship, will receive notification of award with offer of admission, and will be designated a Sacred Heart Scholar. The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year and is renewable for an additional three years, provided the student maintains an overall grade point average of 4.0 and remains in good standing at Saint Joseph High School.  

 

Excellence in Scholarship

These scholarships are offered to incoming freshmen based on the Entrance Exam score, previous standardized test scores, and current and historical grades. The student must have applied to Saint Joseph High School by the December deadline.  Students do not need to apply for the scholarship, will receive notification of award with offer of admission, and will be designated a Sacred Heart Scholar. The scholarships range from $3,000 - $10,000. The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year and is renewable for an additional three years provided the student maintains an overall grade point average of 4.0 and remains in good standing at Saint Joseph High School.

Alumni Scholarship

The Alumni Scholarship, given in honor of Eric August ’05 and Michael Partipilo, is a $1000 scholarship offered to an incoming freshman based on the Entrance Exam score, previous standardized test scores, and current and historical grades. The student must be the son of an alumnus. The student must submit the required essay by the January 30 deadline. Notification will take place prior to February 15.    The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year.

Brothers of the Sacred Heart Scholarship

This $2500 scholarship is offered to an incoming freshman based on the Entrance Exam score, previous standardized test scores, and current and historical grades. The student must submit the required essay by the January 30 deadline. Notification will take place prior to February 15.  The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year and is renewable for an additional three years provided the student maintains an overall grade point average of 4.0 and remains in good standing at Saint Joseph High School.

Dave Bixel Memorial Scholarship

This $1250 scholarship is offered to an incoming freshman based on the Entrance Exam score, previous standardized test scores, and current and historical grades. The student must submit the required essay by the January 30 deadline. Notification will take place prior to February 15. The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year and is renewable for an additional three years provided the student maintains an overall grade point average of 4.0 and remains in good standing at Saint Joseph High School.

Dr. James M. Kunkel ’68 Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. James M. Kunkel, ‘68 Memorial Scholarship is $1250 scholarship is offered to an incoming freshman based on the Entrance Exam score, previous standardized test scores, and current and historical grades. The student must submit the required essay by the January 30 deadline. Notification will take place prior to February 15.  The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year.

The Brother Robert Sheeley, S.C.  Memorial Fund

The Brother Robert Sheeley, S.C. Memorial Fund is a $250 scholarship offered to an incoming freshman based on the Entrance Exam score, previous standardized test scores, and current and historical grades. The Student must have attended Saint Augustine of Canterbury in Kendall Park. The student must submit the required essay by the January 30 deadline. Notification will take place prior to February 15. The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year.

Pops Ryan Memorial Scholarship

Thomas “Pops” Ryan was an English teacher in the early 1960s. This $2500 scholarship is offered to an incoming freshman based on the Entrance Exam score, previous standardized test scores, and current and historical grades. The student must submit the required essay by the January 30 deadline. Notification will take place prior to February 15.    The scholarship is applied to the freshman school year.
