College Bowl
College Bowl is an academically oriented team that offers gifted students the opportunity to experience the joys of interscholastic competition. The members engage in practice competitions in a multiplicity of areas:
  • Science
  • Math
  • Literature
  • Music & Art
  • Language
  • Sports & Entertainment
  • Philosophy
  • Theology
  • Cosmology
These students represent Saint Joe’s and compete for local, state, regional, and national championships.  Saint Joe’s is proud of the College Bowl’s interscholastic record. In its history, the team has won 6 County Championships, 8 Overall All Subject State Championships, and the 2011 & 2012 State Team History Championships. In addition to the team History Championships, SJHS students finished 1st and 2nd in NJ in 2011 in the Individual State History Championships---called the History Bee to distinguish it from the History Bowl, the team Championship. Then in 2012, SJHS students not only finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the State History Bee, our State Champion, Alex Frey, went on to win both the National and World Bee History Bee Championships for 2012.

All students are welcome to join the club. A spirit of teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship are also essential. The members meet after school 2 times a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, in room 104.  Most competitions take place on Saturdays.
